Cabinet Sales Increase +8.8 Percent in May 2016
RESTON, VA . . . According to participating members in the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association’s monthly Trend of Business Survey, cabinet sales for May 2016 increased +8.8 percent compared to sales for May 2015. Stock cabinet sales increased +9.9 percent; semi-custom sales increased +7.4 percent and custom sales increased +11.0 percent.
The year-to-date sales show an increase of +7.0 percent with stock sales up +8.0 percent, semi-custom sales up +5.6 percent, and custom sales up +9.6 percent.
Survey participants include stock, semi-custom and custom companies whose combined sales represent approximately 70 percent of the fragmented U.S. kitchen cabinet and bath vanity market. KCMA is the major trade association for manufacturers of kitchen cabinets, bath vanities, and key suppliers of goods and services to the industry. All major U.S. cabinet manufacturing companies belong to KCMA. Sixty-three percent of KCMA cabinet manufacturer members report sales under $10 million annually, reflecting the importance of small manufacturers in the industry. KCMA has been compiling and reporting industry sales data for over forty years.
