Cabinet Sales Decline -1.7% in 2011
Monthly Sales Decline -1.9% in December 2011
RESTON, VA - According to the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association’s monthly Trend of Business Survey, participating cabinet manufacturers reported sales totaling $4.4 billion for 2011 down -1.7 percent compared to total sales for 2010. Stock sales were down -3.2 percent; semi-custom sales were even with sales for 2010; and custom sales were down -3.0 percent.
December 2011 monthly sales were down -1.9 percent compared to December 2010. Stock sales were down -1.7 percent; semi-custom sales were down -0.7 percent; custom sales were down -9.3 percent compared to December 2010.
Survey participants include stock, semi-custom and custom companies whose combined sales represent well over 66 percent of the fragmented U.S. cabinet market. KCMA is the major trade association for manufacturers of kitchen cabinets and bath vanities, and suppliers of goods and services to the industry. All major U.S. cabinet manufacturing companies belong to KCMA. Sixty-three percent of KCMA cabinet manufacturer members report sales under $10 million annually. KCMA has been collecting industry sales data for over forty years.
