According to the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association’s (KCMA) monthly Trend of Business Survey, participating cabinet manufacturers reported an increase in overall cabinet sales of 6.7% for October 2021 compared to the same month in 2020. Custom sales rose 10.4%, but semi-custom dipped slightly by 0.6%. Stock sales were up 11.2%.

The month-to-month comparison (October 2021 to September 2021) numbers show an overall increase:

  • Overall sales were up slightly by 0.8%
  • Custom sales dropped 11.9%,
  • Semi-custom sales up 5.0%
  • Stock sales up 1.1%

YTD sales remain healthy. Overall cabinet sales are up 14.7% when compared to the same time period in 2020. Custom sales up 20.1%, semi-custom sales increased 11.5% and stock sales increased 16.0%.

Survey participants include stock, semi-custom and custom companies whose combined sales represent approximately 75% of the U.S. kitchen cabinet and bath vanity market. KCMA is the major trade association for kitchen cabinet and bath vanity manufacturers and key suppliers of goods and services to the industry. KCMA has been compiling and reporting industry sales data for more than forty years.
