According to the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association’s (KCMA) monthly Trend of Business Survey, participating cabinet manufacturers reported an increase in overall cabinet sales of 7.2% for July 2021 compared to the same month in 2020. Custom sales are up 10.3%, semi-custom went down 1.1%, and stock sales increased 12.5%.

The numbers weren't as bullish in the month-to-month comparison. Overall sales decreased 11.5% in July 2021 compared to June 2021. Custom sales down 15.1%, semi-custom sales down 17.2%, and stock sales decreased 6.6%.

However, 2021 sales remain strong compared to last year. Overall year-to-date cabinet sales are up 18.3% when compared to the same time period in 2020. Custom sales up 21.5%, semi-custom sales increased 17.6% and stock sales increased 18.1%.

Survey participants include stock, semi-custom and custom companies whose combined sales represent approximately 75% of the U.S. kitchen cabinet and bath vanity market. KCMA is the major trade association for kitchen cabinet and bath vanity manufacturers and key suppliers of goods and services to the industry. KCMA has been compiling and reporting industry sales data for more than forty years.
