According to the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association’s (KCMA) monthly Trend of Business Survey, participating cabinet manufacturers reported an increase in overall cabinet sales of 8.0% for August 2021 compared to the same month in 2020. Custom sales are up 13.1%, semi-custom dipped 1.9%, and stock sales increased 14.0%.

The month-to-month comparison (August 2021 to July 2021) numbers bounced back with a strong showing:

  • Overall sales increased 5.5%
  • Custom sales up 5.7%,
  • Semi-custom sales up 2.1%
  • Stock sales up 7.5%.

YTD sales remain strong across the board. Overall cabinet sales are up 16.9% when compared to the same time period in 2020. Custom sales up 20.4%, semi-custom sales increased 14.9% and stock sales increased 17.6%.

Survey participants include stock, semi-custom and custom companies whose combined sales represent approximately 75% of the U.S. kitchen cabinet and bath vanity market. KCMA is the major trade association for kitchen cabinet and bath vanity manufacturers and key suppliers of goods and services to the industry. KCMA has been compiling and reporting industry sales data for more than forty years.
