In keeping with its commitment to annually review and strengthen the KCMA Environmental Stewardship Program, the KCMA Board of Directors approved the following new items and modifications for KCMA ESP 05-12:
- Beginning January 1, 2012, all particleboard, MDF and hardwood plywood that is manufactured or purchased must be claimed and 100% of each product must comply with the applicable CARB ATCM formaldehyde emission limits
- Added a new points category in Product Resources Management to be able to earn points for the purchase of Certified Sourced hardwood and softwood lumber. This would require invoice verification from the supplier that the product came from a certified sustainable forest.
- Clarified that the previously available points for the consumption of certified hardwood and softwood lumber and hardwood and softwood plywood require Chain-of-Custody certification and would need to be declared on invoices from the supplier.
